Text
My officials continue to work closely with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) through a joint working group to co-design the North's £150 million enhanced investment zone programme. The development of the programme must follow an MHCLG pre-agreed staged-approval process. The target for final approval is autumn 2025. Key to securing approval at each stage is clear demonstration that investment zone funding will drive productivity and leverage significant private-sector funding. Over the coming months, my officials will consult closely with the private sector and other stakeholders to refine the proposition in line with my objectives, which include regional balance.
