The Department will publish a consultation imminently on increasing the level of socialisation of reinforcement costs for customers who are connecting to the distribution electricity network. It will review a number of options for sharing the reinforcement costs of the distribution network among all network users. My Department will review the responses to the consultation after it closes in mid-April with the Utility Regulator. I expect to publish a decision thereafter. There are ongoing developments in other areas of connection policy in the North, including NIE Networks' consultation on its cluster methodology.
