Text
It is certainly something that we are happy to raise directly with the Department for Work and Pensions. The Member will be aware that any way in which we deviate from the rules that currently exist comes with administrative and other costs for the Department that can be very hard for us to bear. Certainly, we will continue to raise the issue with DWP and see what additional support it may be able to provide or what adjustments it can make to help in those situations. When it comes to such a large and complicated welfare and benefits system, we should always do what we can to try to make the process as simple and straightforward as possible for people. I am happy to work with the Member on that.
