Text

I appreciate Mr Gaston's giving way again. In particular when he read out the correspondence that he had received, he majored on what he saw as the anomalous and democratic deficit situation around people not having a say in the European Parliament. There is, of course, an answer, which is Northern Ireland having MEPs. I presume that, given that that would answer part of his point, he would support our call for Northern Ireland to have its own MEPs. Perhaps he or even his colleague, a former MEP who has now tragically left us and gone to London, could return to the European Parliament.
