Text

Is the Minister aware of the number of occasions on which I have raised the issue of the Department's stopping testing for maedi-visna (MV) from January 2026? Although he has stated that a decision has not yet been made, the sheep industry is quite clear from discussions that it has had with officials that that is the case and that 2025 will be a year of transition. I appeal to the Minister not to stop the testing.

When will he give clarification to the industry on the future of MV testing?
