Text
I have previously made clear my desire to strengthen environmental governance in Northern Ireland and the importance of that, and I am fully committed to working on that. Officials previously provided me with an initial scoping paper that outlined current environmental governance arrangements and some options for strengthening them That was an internal exercise for my consideration as part of policy development and was not for publication. Officials continue to progress work on ways to strengthen environmental governance, and I will provide a further update to the Assembly in due course. Any firm and final proposals to strengthen environmental governance will need to be brought to the Executive for consideration.
