Text

A consultation on a review of the Race Relations Order started in March 2023 and formally closed in June 2023. A report on the responses and feedback from the consultation was published in August 2024. We aim to bring updated race relations legislation to the Assembly, through the legislative programme, in the 2025-26 session. The report considered over 50 amendments and will inform the basis for any legislative changes. It will move us a step closer to providing the best possible legal protection against racism and towards a more equal society.
