Text

As the Member knows, Urban Villages, by design, was not supposed to be a long-term funder. We have to learn from what has worked throughout the programme and how we can improve. It has made a real impact on communities by improving good relations and supporting regeneration. Alongside junior Minister Cameron, I have visited numerous sites, met organisations and witnessed the positive changes that have taken place as result of the programme. Work on the ground continues, with those local communities playing a vital role in shaping the projects and benefiting from their delivery. I look forward to working with officials in the Department on the development of Urban Villages.
