Text
Minister, you will be aware of a very serious situation that occurred over the weekend of 21 September, when Daisy Hill Hospital maternity unit was forced to divert all admissions to Craigavon Area Hospital until the Monday morning. The Southern Trust cited staff shortages as the reason. What urgent steps will the Minister's Department take to ensure that the maternity service workforce at both Daisy Hill and Craigavon is stabilised and secured for the long term to ensure that that situation does not arise again?
