Text
A strategy is already in place, as the Speaker will be aware. We are not about creating new documents; the Chief Veterinary Officer has been doing a short and sharp review of what is and what is not working and what more we can do. The results will be announced in the next number of weeks. It is fair to say that there has been a lot of stakeholder engagement on the issue and a lot of review of the science and evidence, and we need to take forward actions. It is clear that there is more that we can do, particularly on biosecurity. We need to pay much more attention to that, and we need to take action to drive the levels down. The current situation is not sustainable, and I will outline a path ahead in the next number of weeks.
