Text

Twenty-four women have been murdered in Northern Ireland since 2020. Based on the information given in the previous question, that is 25 now, and five in the past six weeks. That is a huge escalation, and it is terrifying that Northern Ireland is one of the most dangerous places in Europe for women to live. Given that, with the murder of Mary Ward, the PSNI referred itself to the ombudsman directly, and given the recent handling of the Katie Simpson case, will the Minister of Justice be taking any steps to undertake an urgent review of the handling of those cases in Northern Ireland?
