Text
We have been clear that we must build on the common ground that we all share to realise the potential of the site for the benefit of all, and we are committed to working with the development corporation to achieve that. The future use of the listed and retained buildings is part of the wider discussion that will undoubtedly take place. We recognise that there is a lot of history with the site, and that will require us to move with consensus and sensitivity. Unlocking the potential of the site must be done in a way that is entirely sensitive to the needs of victims and to the history and heritage of this place. I can assure the Member that engagement with those affected will be an essential part of any process of developing proposals, if it gets to that stage.
