Text
The issue was discussed at our meeting with the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster on 2 October. We remain committed to ensuring that the needs of victims and survivors continue to be met. We are delighted to have agreed the new victims and survivors strategy, which has also been endorsed by the Executive. A key part of the strategy is to provide support for victims and survivors, and their families, as they try to move forward from the experiences of the past. The draft strategy recognises the importance of truth and justice and the need to work towards greater societal recognition of the hurt, loss and trauma of our past. We will continue to provide support for victims and survivors through the advocacy support network, which is delivered by community organisations and funded by the Victims and Survivors Service (VSS) and is part of the forthcoming PEACE PLUS programme.
