Text

Of the announced Fresh Start projects, eight have now been completed, and a further six are currently in construction. The Member will know that, unfortunately, earmarked Fresh Start funding was removed by the Labour Government and the previous Conservative Government. Ring-fenced funding is, therefore, no longer in place for the planning and construction of any of the remaining 10 Fresh Start projects that are not currently in construction contract. I have been able to place those remaining unfunded Fresh Start projects in my Department's Executive-funded major capital works programme. That will allow the projects to continue to advance in planning and design.
