Mr McHugh asked the Minister of Education, who will be aware of the challenges that many families face in securing an autism assessment and diagnosis for their child, whether he will outline any work that he is doing with his counterpart in the Department of Health on new strategies or plans so that those families can access services more quickly and get a vital diagnosis in order that proper educational support can be provided for the young person.
