Text
I thank the Minister for her answer. The survey results show that satisfaction with treatment by the police was at only 8%, with respondents citing incidents, particularly of domestic abuse, being belittled and not taken seriously and saying that officers were not trained to deal with sexual assaults. Those statements are in direct contrast to the aims of the domestic and sexual abuse strategy that the Department launched last week. Does the Minister accept that the absence of systemic reform by her Department and the budget set by her Department actively harm victims and deter them from coming forward to report crimes?
