Text
One of the four outcomes — the main focus — of the framework is, crucially, about prevention. We are aiming to get to a position where we have created a society that is absolutely free from violence against women and girls, gender-based violence and abuse and harm. Addressing that underlying cause is crucial if we are going to be successful with our strategy. We have to stop the abuse before it starts. We want everyone to understand violence against women and girls, be able to recognise it very clearly when they see it and know how to take action to prevent it. Our ambition certainly goes beyond the near future. Our focus is, as I said, on longer-term prevention and transforming society for the better to end violence against women and girls for future generations.
