Text

The site is in Lagan Valley, of course, and I would love to unlock its potential. I can say very clearly that, in my role as deputy First Minister, I will never sign up to or agree to anything that would cause offence or hurt to victims and survivors, or risk glorification of any act of violence or terrorism on that site. Those are very much the parameters within which we will operate. Of course, I would like to unlock its potential, but some very good things already happen on the site. I have mentioned before the incredible growth of the Ulster Aviation Society and the Balmoral show, which, I know, many of you have taken the opportunity to visit. Really great activities happen there, and we need to move forward with discussion and care.

Assessment

Not flagged

Jev’s structured answers met the documented threshold for “not flagged”.

  • Overall probability that the activity is being used to promote, exploit or escalate an identity-based controversy: 0.13 (flagging needs at least 0.70; at or below 0.30 is not flagged).
  • None of the five culture-war criteria was met (each was below 0.60).
  • No identity-based framing was identified (0.56).
  • Subject area: Legacy of the Troubles, victims and paramilitarism.
  • The overall probability was at or below the not-flagging threshold.

This is an AI-generated assessment of the text, made against published criteria. It is not a finding of fact about the MLA or their intentions. The Assembly record itself is the fact.
