Text
I thank the Minister for his detailed statement. I know how passionate he is about the subject and how many times he has brought it to the Executive. With regard to fines and penalties, the Supreme Court has just ruled that water companies can be sued for nuisance and trespass for dumping sewage, even if there has been no negligence or deliberate misconduct by the company. Will the Minister study that ruling by the Supreme Court and see how applicable it is to Northern Ireland, especially with regard to Northern Ireland Water and the Department of Infrastructure?
