Text
The faith-based sector plays an important role in society across Northern Ireland, and the Department works closely with faith-based organisations that are involved in delivering projects and support to communities to help address societal issues including childcare, deprivation, health and well-being and access to critical services. In the past five years, the Department has provided over £5·6 million in resource and capital funding through various programmes to a range of faith-based organisations for community development and support programmes. The Department has also invested some £375,000 over the past five years as part of our infrastructure support to promote the role of faith-based organisations in serving the needs of communities across Northern Ireland.
