Gabhaim buíochas leis an Aire as ucht a ráitis.
I welcome the Minister's statement and the announcement of extra funding for special educational needs and the fact that he is going to make transformation of the entire SEN system a priority. That is all very welcome indeed. In the shorter term, EA and departmental officials have been at pains to say that, this year, providing placements for children with SEN is not a crisis. Try telling that to parents who are waiting for their child to get a placement before September; it is certainly a crisis for them. It is a worrying and very stressful time. The only way of addressing it is by acknowledging that there is a crisis, and I am not talking about crisis management. I am talking about acknowledging that there is a crisis. The new chief executive of the Education Authority told the Committee recently that, come September, the number of children without a place —
— could be in the high dozens. Will the Minister acknowledge that it is a crisis and take the appropriate action to resolve it?
