Text

I thank the Member for giving way. Last week, senior officials briefed the Infrastructure Committee, and one key issue that was highlighted was the high level of vacancies — over 28% — particularly in technical roles. The officials outlined that they were considering more innovative ways of addressing the vacancies. Does the Member agree that Departments such as the Department for Infrastructure should take the lead on that issue and do more by creating more apprenticeship places in their Departments and practising what they preach?
