Text
The Shared Island initiative aims to harness the full potential of the Good Friday Agreement to enhance cooperation, connection and mutual understanding across the island and engage with all communities and traditions to build consensus around a shared future. I welcome the Irish Government’s commitment to Shared Island schemes, particularly with the announcement of €600 million for the A5 western transport corridor. Officials will continue to engage with counterparts on the funding opportunities that could be secured through that initiative for projects such as the A1 junction.
