Text

The Department is currently considering the report produced by the independent review panel and is carrying out an internal consultation to inform a way forward. That process includes discussion with key education stakeholders, including other relevant Departments and arm's-length bodies. Following the consultation, officials will produce a paper for my consideration setting out advice on the various recommendations in the report. It is anticipated that the paper will be available by the end of April. I hope to be in a position to respond to the paper before the summer, at which point I should have a clearer understanding of the budget available to my Department.
