Text

I was listening in earlier, and I look forward to hearing the rest of the debate. It was extremely foolhardy that rail was taken out of parts of Tyrone. In the south Tyrone part of Fermanagh and South Tyrone, we had a connection through Dungannon and the Moy, as well as a connection through Caledon, but that is all gone. That left our county bereft of any rail whatsoever. I know that Fermanagh was left out of the all-island strategic rail review, and all those issues need to be addressed. I ask the Minister to comment on the fact that those rail connections are not just an economic driver but provide a social connection, and they link communities in a way that, we now realise, is much more environmentally and economically beneficial than was recognised, perhaps, in other times.
