Text
I think that the Irish Open is coming to County Down this year, which is good news. As I mentioned in response to the previous question, the Open is coming to Portrush in 2025. That, again, is good news and will have enormous benefit. The tourism sector, and that sector in my Department, will look at any future opportunities that we have. Of course, as I said in my original answer, they always require upfront investment, but, in general terms, we have a significant return on the other side. One fly in the ointment is the unresolved question of the outworkings of Brexit on travel permits and how that will have an impact. A lot of this is based on international tourism and international visitors coming here, staying and spending money. If we do not resolve the issue of the electronic travel authorisation (ETA), it could present an enormous challenge in future.
