Text
I recognise the contribution of the North West 200. The other day, when I was doing a radio programme, someone rang in about it. It is clearly an event that has enormous benefit for the north-west. Of course, up on the north coast, you will be looking forward to hosting the Open again, which will bring enormous benefit to that area. I am happy to look at it. It is the consequence of having very tight budgets that decisions have to be made on the level of support that can be given to any particular event. Like all Departments, the Department for the Economy has been challenged to find savings rather than make additional investment, but I am happy to consider the case for the North West 200 to see how we can match it with the level of support that we can provide.
