Cancellation of Summer Schemes in Special Schools - Amendment 5
Leave out all after 'Executive's budget;' and insert:
‘regrets that thousands of families experienced unnecessary anxiety and panic due to the prospect of being without a special educational needs summer scheme place; notes that the Minister of Health and the Minister of Education were able to work together to secure the funding and nursing provision necessary to save summer scheme provision in special schools in 2026; further notes with deep concern that funding for more than 60 charities is set to fall by 64 per cent, as the UK Shared Prosperity Fund is replaced by the Local Growth Fund; and calls on the Executive to work together to identify funding for a mitigation package, to preserve jobs and frontline services as a matter of urgency.’
