Rejecting the Non-Domestic Rates Revaluation
That this Assembly recognises the hospitality sector as a strategically important part of Northern Ireland’s economy, sustaining employment, supporting tourism and contributing to the social and cultural life of communities across the region; expresses concern at the impact of the non-domestic rates revaluation on pubs, restaurants, hotels and other hospitality businesses; notes evidence that many businesses are facing rates bills which have doubled or tripled as a result; believes that the current approach to revaluation is having a disproportionate and damaging impact on the hospitality sector; and calls on the Minister of Finance to revisit and reverse REVAL2026, as it applies to the hospitality sector, alongside the introduction of enhanced and targeted rates relief to deliver a sustainable, thriving hospitality sector.
