Fairness, Transparency and Reform in School Capital Funding
That this Assembly expresses concern regarding the allocation and management of major and minor capital funding for primary and post-primary schools; notes the findings of the Public Accounts Committee’s Inquiry into Managing the Schools' Estate, which identified systemic failures in governance, accountability and long-term planning; recognises that disparities in funding raise serious questions about fairness and transparency in the allocation of resources; and calls on the Minister of Education to urgently publish a comprehensive, transparent estate management strategy with clear criteria for capital investment, improved oversight of the Education Authority, and measures to ensure that funding is allocated equitably across all school sectors and communities.
