Text
Leasehold Property Rights and Transparency
That this Assembly recognises the urgent need for legislation and policy development to better protect leasehold property owners; notes with concern the lack of transparency, ownership rights and accountability currently faced by many leaseholders, particularly in complex shared property management arrangements; acknowledges the financial and emotional strain caused by opaque service charges, unfair practices and the absence of clear statutory safeguards; and calls on the Minister of Finance, working in close partnership with the Minister for Communities, to bring forward proposals for comprehensive reform that will increase transparency, enhance ownership rights, and provide effective regulation of leasehold property and shared management schemes.
