Recognition of the State of Palestine

That this Assembly notes that 75 per cent of UN member states have now recognised Palestine as a state; expresses its deep regret that the British and Irish governments are complicit in genocide in Palestine by facilitating the sale of Israeli war bonds, permitting public bodies and agencies to bank with financial institutions with ties to arms companies and allowing weapons to Israel to fly through Irish airspace; recognises that our devolved institutions came into being as a result of peacebuilding and reconciliation, giving the North of Ireland an authoritative voice on peace processes; and calls on the Northern Ireland Executive to write to the UK Prime Minister, demanding that the UK Government recognises Palestine as an independent state and establishes a Palestinian embassy.
