Industrial Derating
That this Assembly expresses its frustration that some large, wealthy businesses and multinational corporations across Northern Ireland fail to pay their fair share of tax and rates; regrets that the Executive has lost over £73 million in 2023/24 through its industrial derating policy; notes that this money could have been invested in our collapsing public services; and calls on the Minister of Finance to phase out industrial derating, and undertake further work to explore additional measures to ensure wealthy businesses are paying adequate rates and taxes on their profits.
