Text

To ask the Minister of Health, given that he informed the Assembly on 28 April 2026 that changes relating to dental amalgam are UK-wide, following an international agreement, to detail (i) whether he needs to correct the record in light of the Explanatory Memorandum to the Control of Mercury (Enforcement) (Amendment) Regulations 2025 paragraph 4 which confirms that the current regulatory changes have practical effect only in Northern Ireland under the EU Mercury Regulation via the Windsor Framework post-31 December 2034; and (ii) any assessment made of the additional costs and supply issues this divergence will place on NHS dentistry in Northern Ireland.
