Text

To ask the Minister of Health to detail any plans, including associated timeframes, he has to require the systematic recording and publication of information relating to terminations of pregnancy in Northern Ireland, including (i) the statutory ground relied upon in each case; (ii) an equivalent classification to the grounds set out in section 1(1)(a) to (g) of the Abortion Act 1967, in order to bring Northern Ireland abortion statistics in line with those published for England and Wales; (iii) key demographic and clinical data associated with each termination; and (iv) whether a baby is born alive during or following a termination procedure and, where that occurs, whether the baby subsequently dies within 48 hours.
