Text

To ask the Minister for Communities whether the Irish language is no longer covered by the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages on the grounds that the charter only protects languages that are different from the official language(s) of that State, and, under Section 7B of the Identity and Language (Northern Ireland) Act 2022, it states that the purpose of this Part is to provide official recognition of the status of the Irish language in Northern Ireland.
