Text
I suspected that the Member might raise that, so I have an answer.
I thank my officials for pre-empting that. The pond is managed primarily for its biodiversity value. Given its location upstream of the River Roe and its tributaries and its special area of conservation and area of special scientific interest status, management of the site is undertaken sensitively in order to protect its conservation interests. To safeguard habitats and species, any clearance work must be carried out during periods of sustained low flow and in accordance with best practice. I will take the concerns that the Member has raised back to my officials, so that they can further consider them.
