Text
Absolutely, our public-sector workers deserve better. They deserve better in terms of the funding envelope from which we give them their pay rise, and they deserve to get that in a timely way. I regret very much the fact that our healthcare workers are again in a situation where they are having to consider strike action because, this far into the year, they have not had their pay rise. All that I can say to all those workers is that everything that we are doing is about ensuring that we get a Budget that has enough money for the public-sector pay rise. As soon as we get the money over the line, the turnaround in getting that into pay packets will be as quick as we can make it.
