Text
I congratulate Crossmaglen Rangers on another fantastic county final victory and for bringing the Gerry Fegan Cup back to Crossmaglen. As a proud Crossmaglen woman, I know how much the victory means to our community. Cross Rangers are a huge part of the fabric of our town, with generations of families having played their part in the club's success. The latest victory is a credit to the players, management and everyone behind the scenes who have worked so hard throughout the year. The title was dedicated to Crossmaglen's much-loved and much-missed teammate Stringer: Caolan Finnegan. It is a fitting tribute to Caolan, who meant so much to his teammates, the club and the entire community. He was surely in the Athletic Grounds on Sunday in spirit. I have no doubt that Stringer, Margaret McConville and all the other great people whom the club have lost were very much in the thoughts of everyone as they celebrated the victory. They were looking down over the boys, cheering them on.
Crossmaglen Rangers have given our community so many proud days over the years, and this is another one to remember. Comhghairdeas libh agus ádh mór
for the upcoming match against the Cavan champions, Gowna, in a few weeks' time.
