Text
On a point of order, Mr Deputy Speaker. First, with your indulgence, I offer my solidarity to Minister Muir regarding the threats that he has received, as was reported in the news this morning. I ask that the Deputy Speaker reflect on Mr Buckley's comments. He had clearly written his speech before I had made my contribution, because he had already decided what I was going to say. He reflected entirely incorrectly everything that I said in my commentary. I will not accept that. I was absolutely clear about my position in relation to victims and about the abuse of positions of trust and power. That has been specifically outlined not only by those victims but by many other victims of those in positions of trust and power across society. I would like the Deputy Speaker to reflect on that.
