Text
I appreciate the Member's giving way. He will know about the anti-poverty strategy introduced by the Minister for Communities that his party colleague and I have fed into. I certainly did so on the role and input that Education could have. The Chairman of the Committee indicated that he wants the Executive to pull together in working on this. That vehicle exists: it is the Executive anti-poverty strategy, which looks at the issues in their totality. That funding of £23 million would be allocated to that strategy, yet, to date, the strategy has been allocated zero. Would that not be a better and more collective way to spend than literally taking money out of our classrooms?
