Text
Minister, with your answers focusing on the value of staff in our health and social care system, you will also be aware of our voluntary sector and its equal value in complementing your Department in a considerable way. To that end, you will be aware of the work of incredABLE in my constituency and its important adult short-break service that has operated safely and effectively for over 20 years. I understand that it has been in touch with you about an urgent matter concerning the insistence of the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) on registration. However, you will be aware that the unique and vital service that incredABLE provides does not neatly sit within the existing categories under the RQIA's remit. Minister, will you therefore give every effort and attention to the matter and seek to explore all available avenues with incredABLE staff in order to find a resolution that ensures that this vital short-break service continues to operate, given its immense importance to everybody whom it assists?
