Text
As I said in previous answers, Translink is considering the consultation responses. Once Translink has concluded its analysis, we will be engaging with it. In my engagement with Translink to date, I have made it clear that we need to work closely to ensure that we can avoid those cuts. For the all the reasons that I just outlined, I want to encourage more people to use public transport, not to deter them. We froze public transport fares for the past two years because I did not want cost to become a barrier to its use, particularly during a cost-of-living crisis. That is why I and the Member's colleagues in the Executive are fighting hard to ensure that we get a Budget that delivers for people here and that we can deliver good public services, including public transport.
