Text
On 30 April, I announced my intention to bring forward proposals to reform aspects of family law, including parental responsibility, to ensure that our legal framework continues to protect children and reflects public expectations. Since that announcement, officials have been progressing work on a range of policy options and engaging with key stakeholders to inform the development of policy proposals. That engagement has included discussions with organisations representing families and victims, legal and family justice stakeholders, elected representatives and individuals with lived experience of serious domestic abuse and other serious offences affecting families.
