Text
With your permission, Mr Speaker, I will answer questions 10 and 11 together. My priority remains to secure a fair and sustainable multi-year Budget that gives Departments certainty and enables them to plan, invest in and transform public services. Members will be aware that there has been extensive engagement with the Government over recent months, including with the Secretary of State and the Chief Secretary to the Treasury. The Executive met last week in response to my calls for an urgent meeting to discuss the Secretary of State's proposal. During the meeting, the Executive considered the offer, assessed its implications for Departments and public services, and agreed to further engagement with the Secretary of State. Ultimately, agreeing a Budget and securing fair funding are inseparable. I remain committed to working with Executive colleagues and Westminster to deliver both as a matter of urgency.
