Text
Minister, nobody in the Chamber has ever argued against the fact that the road is needed for the safety aspects, and, of course, we all think about the lives that have been lost from all sections of the community on the A5. Your Department will have been planning for this day for some time, and you will have worked through different scenarios that might have arisen today. There will be landowners and families who will sit around the kitchen table tonight trying to plan for their farm businesses going forward. Will you detail the exact time and date when those landowners will have their land handed back to the Department? Does that kick in from tonight? That is crucial, because landowners need to know that for insurance purposes and planning for their farms. I understand that it will revert to the November 2024 vesting orders: will you confirm that this evening for farmers who will be trying to plan tonight?
