Text
Many of the projects were resting on today's decision, and we did not move ahead because we felt that it would be too much of a risk. We now have a clear line from the court about where we can go next, and it is certainly my intention that we will move ahead with the projects that have been waiting for today's ruling. I will be happy to share the timelines for those projects with Members once we have clarity and have considered the judgement in detail. There are so many projects. The A1 has been mentioned, as has the Ballynahinch bypass and others. My priority is that we make good progress on those projects and get back to where we left off.
I, too, want to see the Lagan pedestrian and cycle bridge built. It is an important scheme, and, obviously, there is funding resting on it. As I said for some of the other projects that have been slowed down as a result of the A5 case and have been awaiting today's decision, we certainly intend to move ahead with those projects as soon as possible.
