Text
Getting the right place is hugely important for a lot of children. Parents want that, and I support that. That is why I have communicated repeatedly to schools that it is not just for a small number of schools to respond: young people with special educational needs reside in every community and in every part of the Province, and every school has a responsibility to step up in order to provide support. That is why I am encouraged by the positive response from many schools that have come forward to say that they will offer support. Whether it be through specialist provision or the 150 schools where we are currently assessing the enhanced school model pilot, there is a clear desire to provide the right support. It is vital that it is provided in the right place. That is what we are trying to achieve.
