Text
I am grateful to the Member for giving way. Is it not fascinating that, in his response, Mr Tennyson said that he is happy to provide clarity but did not say that he is happy to change that. He is not happy to amend it so that we can make it crystal clear. Providing clarity? He has been trying to do that for all of the time that we have been debating. We are not accepting that, because it does not change a word of what is on there. There is a fundamental misunderstanding between this side of the House and the other about what these words mean. Clarity is not what we need; we need a fundamental rewrite.
