Text

I thank the Member for giving way. She has based this argument on a gay person going to a parent, but, in the Bill, we have a loose definition of "gender identity". If a child says to their mum or dad, "I am an animal", and that parent says, "You're going to have to think about this for a couple of years", that is suppression of an identity according to the Bill because of the wide definition of "gender identity".
